What is the Nuppeppo?  Maybe it’s better to ask, why is the Nuppeppo?  This lumpy blob of flabby flesh with barely distinguishable features is one of the rarer yokai from Japanese folklore.  Despite living in graveyards and abandoned temples, the Nuppeppo is thought to be completely harmless.  Oh, except it smells really bad.  Like, overwhelmingly bad.  But if you can get past that and eat one, the flesh is said to give you immortality and great powers.

Nuppeppo is cast in solid resin and hand-painted until spectacularly weird.  The bottom is finished with black velvet flocking.
